Monumental Life invites friends, neighbors, policyholders, employees and retirees to a Sunday afternoon sing-along on its Charles and Biddle Street terrace in downtown Baltimore from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The program, featuring the Dundalk-based Chorus of the Chesapeake singing in four-part harmony, is one of four outdoor events hosted by Monumental this spring and summer to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary in Baltimore . Baltimore Theatre Project, 45 West Preston Street offers Creative Visions, a ten-day arts workshop for kids through August 2, 2008. Geared to children ages 9-12, this ten-day workshop led by well-known artist and teacher Susan Alder George, introduces the collaboration of dance, movement, mask-making, costuming and creative writing into performance and production. Students will gain first-hand knowledge of what it's like to present a show from concept to completion, as all of their work will culminate in a performance before a live audience on the final day. The Walters Art Museum, 600 N. Charles Street, presents Faces of Ancient Arabia: The Giraud and Carolyn Foster Collection of South Arabian Art through September 7, 2008. Comprising almost 100 sculptures, statues, relief carvings and inscribed blocks, this exhibition which is free,  examines the artistic sophistication and visual splendor of works from the ancient South Arabian kingdoms that prospered through trade in incense and other precious commodities. Through a recent gift from the private collection of Giraud and Carolyn Foster, these mostly alabaster artifacts dating from the sixth century B.C. to the fourth century A.D. will bring to life the art and history of a rich culture of the ancient world, largely unknown to many Westerners. To complement these ancient works, the exhibition will also feature paintings and drawings by world-renowned contemporary Yemeni artists Fuad al-Futaih, Hashim Ali Abdalla and Mohamed Zaidan as well as photographs of the country's landscape, architecture and people by Detlef Michael Noack.
